"The Deer God is a breathtaking 3D pixel art game that will challenge your religion and your platforming skills."
I stumbled across The Deer God by accident. I was scrolling through Kickstarter as I so often do looking for neat projects, and The Deer God is my favorite yet. I found it a little late, honestly, as it only has one more day to be kickstarted, but considering that it has nearly doubled its original goal, I think people like it as much as I do.

I was particularly interested in the game due to my recent start of my playthrough of Secrets of Raetikon (more on that to come). This game is strikingly similar to it in both the atmosphere it presents and the way it is perceived by the player. There isn’t a whole lot I can say about it as of yet, due to the fact that the crowd funding hasn’t even ended, so I’ll let the project speak for itself:

“
The Deer God is a game about survival, reincarnation, and karma, all set in a breathtaking and unique 3D pixelized world. Feast your eyes on the beautiful lighting, day and night system, and mesmerizing water reflections.
After a hunting incident, a hunter has an unexpected experience. Now the hunter becomes the hunted, and the tables are turned!
The game is very much inspired by things that we loved growing up (not just video games). Being outside in the woods, building forts, seeing deer standing motionless in the forest and chasing after them. Building bows and arrows, pretending to hunt. We miss those days, but the feeling is here, inside of this game.”
The game has shown much approval from the community, already being greenlit on Steam. The creator of the game is also dedicating The Deer God to a cardinal he recently ran over. This game looks seriously awesome, and it will be the first project on Kickstarter that I am helping to support.
